Welcome to the 2010 ACYA cheerleading season!

These few reminders will hopefully answer any questions you might have and get our season off to a great start.

Colt cheerleading (girls cheering for the 4th to 7th grade travel teams):

Practice for NEW cheerleaders begins next week on Monday (07/26), Tuesday (07/27), and Thursday (07/29) evenings from 6:00-7:30. Practice will continue for two weeks. Please arrive early and meet under the tree area at the end of Mustang Field. This is the field adjacent to the parking lot.

Beginning August 9th, ALL Colt cheerleaders will practice from 6:00 to 8:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Practice on Mondays will discontinue once games begin (generally the end of August). Please arrive early and meet under the tree area at the end of Mustang Field. This is the field adjacent to the parking lot.

Intra-League cheerleaders (girls cheering for the K-3rd grade non-travel teams):

Uniform fittings will be next week on Tuesday (07/27) and Thursday (07/29) from 6:30-7:30. If your daughter has already been fitted there is no need to attend.

Practice for NEW Intra-League cheerleaders will be Tuesday, August 3rd and Thursday, August 5th from 6:00-7:00. Intra-League cheerleaders should meet next to the softball field.

ALL Intra-League cheerleaders should report on Tuesday, August 10th at 6:00.

Please remember that parking is limited and you should arrive early in order to be on time to practice. All girls should wear their practice uniforms and athletic shoes and bring a water bottle. If you haven't picked up a practice set you will be able to get it before practice. Your daughter will be able to change in the restroom.

IMPORTANT: A responsible person should be available for EVERY girl at the park at all times. If you are dropping your daughter off they MUST know who is responsible for them and where to locate that person. Should any illness or injury occur coaches must be able to find a responsible adult immediately.

Cheerleading Directors

Intra-League Cheerleading:

Recreational cheer program for girls in Kindergarten through 4th grade
No experience necessary
All practices and games are at Murphey Candler Park.
Squads have a two day a week commitment.
If registrations do not support individual squads for the 4th grade teams, the girls will be combined with the 3rd grade squads.
Girls will be placed on squads according to their grade in school as of September 2010. The only exception will be for the child of a coach, if the cheerleader is within one grade level of the squad grade.
Girls in 5th to 7th grade cannot cheer in the Intra-League at this time. If registrants increase in this age group, squads may be formed.
The Intra-League uniform package is included in the registration fee.
Cheerleaders will be given a t-shirt and shorts set which is the required uniform for practice.

Division 1 Colt Travel Cheerleading:

All Colt squads are full for the 2010 season. 4th graders are encouraged to register for Intra-League cheerleading. If there is enough interest, squads will be formed for the 4th grade Intra-League teams. If not, a full refund will be issued.
Advanced recreational cheer program for girls in 4th through 7th grade.
Cheer for 4th, 5th, 6th, & 7th grade Division 1 Atlanta Colt football teams.
All practices are at Murphey Candler Park. Games are played at local parks throughout metro Atlanta.
The practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday nights for two hours. There will be a Monday practice at the start of the season until games begin.
The squads are limited in size. Once a squad is full, the girls will be placed on a waitlist. All 4th grade girls have the option to cheer in the Intra-League program.
Girls will be placed on squads according to their grade in school as of September 2010. The only exception will be for the child of a coach if the cheerleader is within one grade level of the squad grade.
Colt Cheerleaders will have a new uniform for the 2010 season. The required uniform package costs $225. A portion of the package (uniform top & skirt, turtleneck, bloomers, and hair ribbon) is included in the registration fee. The remaining required items (warm up, socks, and shoes) will be the same as those in 2009. If you need to order these items, they will be available for order during online registration or at an in-park registration event. The cost will be $55 for the warm up, $25 for the shoes, $10 for socks.
Cheerleaders will be given a t-shirt and shorts set which is the required uniform for practice.
